We offer a 200-hour Teacher Training co-led by Bailey Evans and Jennifer Smith. This course is ashtanga-based with a focus on how to create a safe and sustainable lifelong practice. This course is not just for students with the intention to lead after completion, but also for students who crave more knowledge and a deeper understanding of their practice.
TECHNIQUES AND PRACTICE OF HATHA YOGA
Our goal is for you to be able to gain a deep understanding of the following and communicate this through intelligently sequenced vinyasa classes.
- Why an asana practice
- Why a pranayama practice
- The eight limbs
- Breath, bandhas, drishti
- Ashtanga yoga
We will also cover trauma and prenatal training as well as a deep understanding of breath, bandhas, drishti, gunas, elements, and anatomy.
ETHICS OF TEACHING
This will center on the art of intelligent sequencing with a deep exploration of the asanas, with a focus on understanding how to level up or down students based on where they are which will create a sustainable and intelligent lifelong asana practice.
You will gain an in-depth understanding of both the muscular and skeletal system which will enable you to create safely sequenced classes.
SCRIPTURE & PHILOSOPHY
PRIVATE PRACTICE HOURS
This will include mandatory class attendance with proof of hours as well as mandatory self-led practice and journaling.
SMALL-GROUP PEER REVIEW AND PRACTICUM
You will teach in small group settings to refine your skills and will observe and assist in classes taught by others.
Schedule and Cost
Training will be held one weekend a month beginning September 2022 and dates are listed below. Each weekend will start with a class on Friday evening from 6PM-8PM and run on Saturdays and Sundays from 8AM-5PM with an hour break for lunch. The total cost for the training is $3,200 with a non-refundable $500 deposit. Early bird pricing is $3,000 until July 1, 2022. Payment plans are available if needed.
